What is the price to hire a professional DJ?

It depends on how many hours and the type of event. However, our prices are totally inclusive, which means there are no hidden fees. All travel, setup/breakdown time and consultation time are included in the quoted price.

What about signing a contract?

Air Monty provides all clients a copy of our contract signed by both parties. This will ensure that there are no discrepancies on the day of the event.

How much of deposit do you need to hold my event date?

The non-refundable deposit is 50% of the total amount, which is to be paid within 14 days of the booking date. The balance is to be paid at the beginning of the day of your event.

How many years have you been in business and how much experience do you have?

Air Monty has been in business since 1985. We specialize in weddings, anniversaries and corporate events.  We also provide DJ services for all occasions, including birthdays, holidays, reunions, and more. We have worked in radio and  the television industry.

How far in advance should I book your services for my event?

You can book whenever you like, the earlier the better. However, we do honor last minute and emergency bookings.

Does the DJ take any breaks?

The advantage of having a DJ do your event, instead of a band, is that the DJ does not take any breaks.  The music only stops for announcements.

How early will you arrive to set-up at my event?

An average of 1 hour should be allowed for setup and sound checks.

How often should I contact you after I am booked?

You will receive a call from us, the Monday prior to your event, to review all details of that event and make any changes that are required.  However, you may contact us at anytime when you have a question or comment.

My friend said he could bring his ipod and DJ for us, why should I hire a professional DJ instead?

Anyone can just bring a ipod to your party and play music, but there really is a lot more to it. A professional DJ brings with them their expertise, thousands of song titles, and professional equipment. A professional knows how to read the crowd and tailor the music to the guests. A professional knows how to keep the party flowing at a fun pace so you don’t lose half your guests in the middle of the party.

How will you be dressed?

We will be dressed appropriately as the function dictates. A tuxedo is worn at all weddings unless otherwise requested. At all other events, we like to fit in with your guests and will ask how you would like us to dress ahead of time.

What type of sound system and lighting effects do you use?

Only state of the art, professional equipment is used, such as Mackie, Numark, Shure and American DJ. The DJ setup is always neat and tidy with a professional look.

How loud will it be?

The volume will be varied throughout the course of the event, but always at a level that your guests will appreciate. During cocktail and dinner hour, the music will be soft so that your guests can talk with each other without straining.  When the dancing begins, the volume will increase to the appropriate, respectable level. We keep our speakers on stands and direct them toward the dance floor.

Does the DJ interact with the guests at my event?

Absolutely, we would prefer to setup directly on the main floor and not a stage. Stages can appear to be standoffish. This allows your guests more accessibility to provide requests, suggestions and ideas. We have a wealth of expertise interacting with people of all ages and backgrounds.

What type of music do you have?

We have music from every era and genre from the 40’s through today. We use only compact disc’s to ensure the best quality digital sound.

Do you take requests?

Requests are welcome. If a song seems inappropriate, a good DJ will explain the reason and ask your guests for an alternative selection.

Can we have a "do not play" list?

Yes. This is very important to assuring your enjoyment at your party. Any preferences you have will be honored.

Should we provide a meal for the DJ?

A meal is deeply appreciated however, it is not necessary or expected. Typically we will eat prior to the event as we are not your guests. However if we need a bite to eat, most function halls will offer the DJ a meal.
